Attendance is expected at all practices, meets and team meetings.
Attendance will be taken everyday. Three unexcused absents will result in not participating in the next upcoming meet.
Practice begins at 3:30 pm. Tardies will result in extra push-up, sit-ups or running.
South High Track & Field is a varsity sport and it takes priority over any club sport. If you have any conflicts pleases talk to Coach Gross about it.
Be ready to practice in all kinds of weather. Keep extra clothes in your locker.
Keep Hydrated! Bring a water bottle to every practice!
Practice attendance is still mandatory when injured. Coaches will construct an alternative training work-out.
Everyone rides the bus to and from every meet. If an athlete needs to make other arrangements or meet parents after competition, Coach Gross must approve such plans.
Keep track of your gear. If a coach picks up your “lost” gear, you will be doing push-ups to get it back! How Many? You’ll See!
The use of toys: footballs, hake sacs, Frisbees, etc. are not allowed at meet sites. They are not related to competition and act as a distraction.
Always support your teammates! Run together, stretch together, cheer for each other .
Represent the team, our school, your self and your family well. Be polite, respectful, helpful, and proud! No Fooling Around at Meets. Athletes not representing South High with class and dignity will not be invited to travel with the team to meets.
In accordance with the Minnesota State High School League, alcohol and tobacco products are not to be used and or purchased during school sponsored activities.
Inappropriate, distasteful T-shirts and or dress are not acceptable
When the opportunity presents itself, athletes and coaches are encouraged to thank officials, bus drivers, and the host school for their efforts.
Do your best, and bring a positive attitude to the team.
SHOW RESPECT FOR YOURSELF, YOUR TEAMMATES, AND YOUR COACH AT ALL TIMES.
